Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean have just wrapped up the busiest summer on record in terms of hotel occupancy and overall popularity.
Newly released figures shed light on the most sought-after destinations this summer, many of which have seen their popularity skyrocket with travelers.
Although the Mexican Caribbean is now heading into the quieter shoulder season, travelers will continue to flock to the sun-soaked destination in search of quaint beaches, warm hospitality, and vibrant cultural experiences.

This year, travel numbers are continuing to climb steadily as new investments bring improvement to everything from infrastructure to safety.
Chetumal

Travel to Bacalar is up by over 7% compared to last year, as visitors flock to the trendy eco-hub in droves. This summer, the city implemented new measures to protect a growing number of travelers from organized crime and fake tour companies.
The efforts have contributed to the location’s improved reputation, and Bacalar is expected to continue to attract ever-growing amounts of visitors.
Cancun
A leading resort hotspot – not just in Mexico but the entire world – Cancun continues to top the charts as the most popular destination in Quintana Roo for mass travel. The sunny destination officially welcomed over 613,000 travelers this summer, which represents a growth rate of over 6% compared to the same period last year.
